SENIOR PASTORS
Bishop Mullings and First Lady Mullings
Bishop Mullings and First Lady Mullings have a deep love and passion for the ministry and exemplify Christ as their servant leader. They have served the Church of God for five decades. Natives of Jamaica, they met and married in England and immigrated to United States in 1972.
As members of the Church of God of East Flatbush they both served in many capacities, most notably as Youth Director. Bishop Mullings earned his Bachelors and Masters in Social Work in New York where he worked as a full time social worker. First Lady Mullings’s secular career began in nursing in Luton, England. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Manhattan College, and she achieved certification in Midwifery, Ophthalmology, and ICU/PICU Nursing. She also taught nurse technicians and nurse’s aides.
In 1986, following the call of God and the recommendation of then New Jersey Administrative Bishop, Harold Downing, the Mullings family left East Flatbush Church of God to pastor a small church in Trenton, New Jersey. Trenton Church of God was renamed Mt. Bethel Church of God as Bishop Mullings envisioned a church where people would “enter with a praise, and leave with a miracle.” Over the years Mt. Bethel has grown to be one of the largest Church of God churches in New Jersey.

Bishop Mullings has served the Church of God in many capacities over the years including World Missions Board Member, North East Regional Fellowship Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President and President, Ministerial Internship Program Coordinator, Ministerial Examination Board Chairman, Church of God of the Garden State Evangelism Director, Church of God National Evangelism Board Member and State Council member. He currently serves as coordinator of the state Calling and Ministry Studies (CAMS). In 1999, he received his doctorate in Theology from the European Seminary. In the community, Bishop Mullings is a chaplain at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and also at Capital Health System. He previously served on the Board of Directors at Henry J. Austin Health Center, and is a member of the Concerned Pastors of Trenton.

First Lady Mullings, affesctionately known as Pastor Del, is a dynamic preacher and teacher of the Word (following in her mother’s footsteps). She has served New Jersey as a State Youth Board member, Women’s Ministries Board Chairperson, Secretary, and Board member. She has made several trips to Jamaica as a missionary, preaching and administering medical care to those in need. Pastor Del lead a team of missionaries to Liberia where they celebrated the ground breaking of Mission Zu, a boarding school for children which is an extension of Mt. Bethel Church of God in Liberia. She also served as women’s president for the Northeast Regional Fellowship for four years and has served on the Women’s Ministries board for a number of years.
First Lady Mullings is a fervent worker, whether it be cooking in the kitchen, or cleaning the church. She always leads by example and she is not afraid to get her hands dirty. She is a good listener and always willing to provide counsel when needed. She chooses to live by her favorite scripture, Romans 8:21: “What shall he say then to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
Bishop and First Lady Mullings are a couple like no other and we commend them for their tenacity when it comes to Kingdom work. Their love for others is evident in how they serve. They are assisted in the ministry by their son and daughter-in-law, Bishop Gary and Rev. Jackie who are also credentialed Church of God ministers. Bishop and Lady Mullings love nothing more than to spend time with their family, and enjoy spoiling their grandchildren: Chloe, Ashley and Sean.
